1 killed, 1 hurt in Monday afternoon crash on I-485 near University Area

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – We are still waiting to learn what caused a deadly accident in the University Area Monday afternoon. It happened around 3:30 on I-485 near exit 33.

MEDIC pronounced 1 person dead at the scene, and took another person to the hospital with minor injuries.

Video shows a sedan off the side of the road in some trees. There is also a downed sign. There is no word if the car hit that sign.
