Charlotte Mayor Rob Harrington leads first City Council meeting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte’s newly appointed mayor Rob Harrington led his first official City Council meeting Monday night.

Harrington assumed the mayoral seat on July 1 following the unexpected resignation of Mayor Vi Lyles. City Council appointed the attorney to serve out the remaining 18 months of the current term, which runs through December 2027.

Monday’s meeting marked Harrington’s first full session collaborating with council members on Charlotte’s future plans.
