Charlotte man sentenced to federal prison in massive mail theft scheme

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A Charlotte man is headed to federal prison for a massive mail theft scheme. Tidarian Williams was sentenced on Tuesday to three and a half years in prison, along with two years of probation.

Federal prosecutors say between October 2024 and May 2025, Williams used stolen USPS master arrow keys to ransack local mailboxes. He stole and altered checks, swiping a total of $963,000.

The fraud involved depositing the altered checks into compromised accounts.
