Nearly 400 jobs are coming to Catawba County

CATAWBA CO., N.C. – Nearly 400 new jobs are coming to Catawba County. Governor Josh Stein announced a $1 billion expansion at the Prysmian facility in Claremont.

The project will create 385 new positions in fiber and glass manufacturing. The roles will average an annual salary of nearly $61,000, exceeding the county average.

State leaders say the expansion will pump a $23 million annual payroll impact into the local economy. The expansion is expected to be complete by 2030
