CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Bus service will return to the Eastland Transit Center on Friday, August 14, following a two-year closure for extensive infrastructure upgrades, transit officials announced.
The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) closed the eastern Charlotte facility to accommodate the construction of a new roadway and various pedestrian safety improvements.
Beginning Friday, CATS bus routes 28, 221, and 222 will resume serving the transit center’s active bus bays. Passengers utilizing the facility will also have access to transfers for Route 9, which will continue its regular service along Central Avenue to connect riders directly to Uptown Charlotte and surrounding areas.
Transit officials stated that updated transit maps and revised route schedules are available for passengers on the official agency website, ridetransit.org, and through the CATS-Pass mobile application.
