Flock trying to calm public concerns by rolling out new guard rails

ATLANTA, GA – Flock is trying to quell public concerns about its surveillance network by rolling out guard rails for it.

The company has cameras all over the US that read license plates and track vehicular movement. Police departments pay Flock to search its database. But there have been several reports recently of officers abusing the system and using it to do things like track romantic partners.

Flock is now requiring all customers to use an audit tool that flags abnormal search behavior. Users also must now input a case number to justify each search.
