Police: Break-in suspect found hiding in nearby dumpster, pretending to be asleep

MONROE, N.C. – A South Carolina man is facing burglary charges after police say they pulled him out of a trash dumpster. Anthony White is charged with breaking and entering, felony larceny, and property damage.

Monroe Police say they caught White early Friday morning after a security alarm went off at the 101 Smoke Shop on East Franklin Street. Officers found the store’s front glass door shattered.

During a sweep of the property, an officer says they discovered White hiding inside a dumpster behind the business, pretending to be asleep next to a duffle bag full of stolen merchandise.
