South Carolina breaking and entering suspect found hiding inside dumpster

MONROE, N.C. – A breaking and entering suspect was found in a dumpster while trying to evade police. Monroe Police officers responded to an alarm at 101 Smoke Shop on E. Franklin Street. When officers arrived, they found that the front door of the business had been shattered.

Officer did not find a suspect when searching the inside of the business. After a continued search, one of the officers found the suspect hiding inside of a dumpster located behind the business.

Anthony White, 39, of Chester, South Carolina was identified as the suspect found hiding in the dumpster, covered in trash while pretending to be asleep. Officers found the items stolen from the business in a duffle bag in White’s possession.

White was taken into custody and charged with breaking and entering, felony larceny, and injury to personal property. He is currently being held in the Union County Detention Center.
