Police: Woman stabs ex to death after argument over child support

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police have made an arrest after a deadly stabbing at a strip mall in southeast Charlotte. We first brought this to you as breaking news on WCCB News at Nine on Tuesday.

32-year-old Keyara McKnight is charged with murder. Warrants allege McKnight stabbed her child’s father, John Christian, after an argument over child support.

It happened around 6:30 Tuesday night outside a business where Christian worked on Monroe Road. Warrants say McKnight then drove away from the scene. Investigators used street and Flock cameras to track her down in Indian Trail, where she told deputies, “I’m the one you’re looking for.”

Detectives say they found blood both inside and outside McKnight’s car. She remains in jail without bond.
