Woman at center of Shelby Police use of force video is re-arrested
SHELBY, N.C. – The woman at the center of a viral Shelby Police use-of-force video is back behind bars. Police arrested 34-year-old Cherrie Moore for failing to appear in court.
Her re-arrest is connected to a misdemeanor breaking and entering charge related to a controversial incident in May.
Moore made headlines after a doorbell camera video captured now former Officer Karson Hyder punching her repeatedly in the face. The officer was quickly fired and charged with assault.
Moore is being held on a $20,000 bond. She is due in court on September 10th.
