Woman charged after stabbing incident

STONY POINT, N.C. – A 20-year-old woman was arrested for her connection to a stabbing incident in Stony Point. Deputies responded to the Stony Point area after a call was made about a possible stabbing incident.

Marissa Doby, 20, was arrested and charged after an investigation found that the woman stabbed another person with a knife in the shoulder. She attempted to pull away and run while being placed in custody.

Doby was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, misdemeanor for crime of domestic violence and misdemeanor for resisting an officer.

She is currently being held at the Alexander County Detention Center under a 48-hour-hold.
