Two arrested after drugs found in Burke County residence

BURKE COUNTY, N.C. – The Burke County Sheriff’s Office have arrested two individuals in connection with a drugs found at a Burke County residence. Burke County officers responded to a residence on Catawba Street near Highway 70.

Officers found approximately 50 grams of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia. Adrian Wiggins, 39, and Shelli Mayfield, 42, were taken into custody.

Wiggins was charged with felony trafficking fentanyl, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substances, felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver controlled substances and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mayfield was charged with felony possession of fentanyl.

Wiggins and Mayfield were to ordered to be held on a 48 hour hold.
