Violent crime is dropping in the Queen City

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte–Mecklenburg Police have revealed that violent crime is dropping across the city. Officers are pivoting their focus toward aggressive noise violation. The latest data shows that violent is down 30% so far this year with 57 fewer victims compared to last year.

Despite the positive trend, residents are increasingly complaining about aggressively loud vehicles that have been modified to make a gunshot style noise.

Under the operation, drivers violating the noise ordinance face immediate arrests and their vehicles will impounded as evidence.
