Inmate charged after attempting to bribe officer

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. – Detectives have made an arrest after an inmate attempted to bribe a detention officer to smuggle contraband into the Rowan County Detention Center.  Rowan County Sheriff’s Office VICE/Narcotics Unit detectives were made aware of the alleged activity and conducted an investigation.

Tanesha Turner was determined to be a co-conspirator that assisted with obtaining contraband and providing payment for the bribe that inmate Cordera Brown executed.

Undercover detectives arrested Turner and Brown for their involvement.

Cordera Brown is currently being held on charges of felony bribery, felony conspiracy and possession of tobacco on jail premises. While Brown awaits trial, she is also being charged with felony identity theft, felony assault inflicting serious bodily injury, possession of a firearm by a felon.

This investigation remains ongoing.
