CMS Board approves policies to support students having a mental health crisis

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Board has approved policy updates to support students who may be having a mental health crisis.

The policy now reflects the availability of North Carolina Student Lifeline information. Students in grades six through 12 will be provided with the phone numbers of the 988 Suicide Crisis Lifeline and the North Carolina Peer Warmline.

That information will be “prominently displayed” on places like student IDs.
