Dilworth assault suspect indicted by grand jury

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The man accused of punching a woman and knocking her to the ground in Dilworth has been indicted by a grand jury, meaning criminal proceedings have officially started against Dequan Hunt. Hunt is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, causing serious injury in connection with the attack that happened on July 30th.

Prosecutors say Hunt recorded the attack and then posted it online, which helped investigators identify him. He was arrested on August 6th after this video went viral.
