CMS board to discuss a change of leadership at their next meeting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – WCCB has learned the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Board of Education will discuss a change of leadership.

A board member confirmed that at least three members want to discuss chair Stephanie Sneed’s removal. This moves comes after the Board of Education spent nearly $400,000 on an investigation into CMS Superintendent Dr. Crystal Hill, before bringing her back.

The majority of the board would have to vote in favor of Sneed’s removal. She would stay on as a board member. The board votes on a chair and vice chair every December.

The board will discuss removing Sneed as chair on September 22nd.
