Quadruple shooting suspects shot and killed dead after police chase

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. – The suspects accused in a Gaston County quadruple shooting are dead less than 24 hours after the shooting.

A home on Forbes Road in Gastonia became the center of the crime scene Thursday morning around 8:45 when police arrived to find four people shot inside the home.

Police say 50-year-old Heather Moore and 38-year-old Josiah Bumgardner died in the shooting, two others are still in critical condition.

U.S. marshals tracked the suspects 29-year-old Cory Armstrong and 26-year-old Camryn Moore.

Using automated license plate readers, Ohio State Police tracked the vehicle and attempted to stop the couple more than 300 miles from Gaston County. Ohio authorities say the suspects crashed after a cross county chase. The couple was found shot and killed in the car.

Authorities have not released further details about how they ended up shot.

Family friends say the suspects Camryn Moore and Corey Armstrong were dating. Police say the suspects shot Moore’s mother, uncle and two siblings in the family’s home.

Gaston County Police did not answer specific questions about this case, but they did say they would continue investigating this case.
