Three top CMS leaders announce they are leaving the school district
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is confirming a shakeup at the top. Three leaders have announced plans to part ways with the school district. Deputy Superintendent Dr. Melissa Balknight and Chief Financial Officer Kelly Kluttz will both retire from the district on January 1st.
Chief Human Resource Officer Angela Wood is the most immediate departure. Her last day is Monday, September 14.
It is not clear why the three are stepping away from their roles. This news comes weeks after Superintendent Dr. Crystal Hill returned to her duties following a months-long investigation.
