CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have charged a babysitter with murder. They say 28-year-old Shidae Sellers killed a seven-month-old baby in her care.
It started when the infant, Julien Grayson, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries on Thursday, September 10th. Detectives were called, and they started an investigation. Shortly after, they arrested Sellers. After interviewing Sellers at the Law Enforcement Center, police charged her with child abuse inflicting serious injury.
On September 15th, after learning the baby was not expected to survive his injuries, homicide detectives went to the scene in the Steele Creek area to collect physical evidence. The next day, September 16th, the infant died. On the 17th, police served Sellers with a murder warrant.
Warrants indicate she’s accused of violently shaking or hitting the baby in the head, causing a hematoma, skull fracture, and more.
Sellers remains in jail under a multi-million dollar bond.
