NC Governor offers new reward in unsolved homicide case of Salisbury 7 year old

SALISBURY, N.C. – Authorities hope new rewards for high profile unsolved murder cases will get the right people talking. The Governor’s is offering $25,000 rewards for information that leads to arrests and convictions in several cases included A’yanna Allen. The seven year old was killed December 4th, 2016 while sleeping in bed on Harrel Street in Salisbury. The home was hit with a barrage of bullets.

“It was a shooting at a nightclub and a guy lost his life. People went to Ayana’s, other grandmother’s house, Shirley Robinson and Retaliated because of the boy that got murdered at the nightclub. A’yanna was hit up. She was shot 20 times and the police been investigating it ever since,” April Woodberry, A’yanna’s grandmother said.

Now, 10 years later the Governor’s Office is offering $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case. Allen’s case is one of at least three high profile cases in Salisbury that remain unsolved. Authorites hope the rewards will jog memories. Eighty year old Charles Williams, and three year old Myisha Angle were killed August 10, 2024 when more than 30 shots were fired into their home on Rowan Mill Road. Police hope the money will make the right person talk.

“We’re hoping that, you know, folks that are have knowledge of this case are, will take a second look and realize that this reward is available and hopefully they’ll come and do the right thing and come talk to us,” Lt. Brandon Vasper, Salisbury Police Dept. said.

As National Remembrance Day approaches on September 24th, Allen’s family is keeping the faith that people will do the right thing.

She didn’t deserve it. She was a child. And it’s just heartbreaking that people know what happened and won’t say anything,” April Woodberry, A’yanna’s Grandmother said.
