Subaru South Charlotte celebrates Sterling Elementary teachers with funding, supplies and appreciation

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (News Release) – Subaru South Charlotte continued its long-standing commitment to supporting local educators Tuesday through Subaru Loves Learning, surprising teachers at Sterling Elementary School with flexible funding certificates, essential school supplies, and a special “Teacher Yearbook” with notes of gratitude from Subaru team members and customers.

Since 2016, Subaru South Charlotte has partnered with Sterling Elementary to help ensure students have access to the tools and learning materials they need to thrive. What began with donations of award‑winning STEM books and a certified butterfly habitat has grown into a decade-long relationship rooted in encouragement, equity and community impact.

During Tuesday’s visit, Principal Neill and Assistant Principal Konzelmann welcomed Subaru South Charlotte’s team as they delivered this year’s donations. Ten teachers were selected to receive $500 flexible funding certificates to shop for classroom materials through AdoptAClassroom.org, along with curated boxes of the most requested school supplies: items teachers often purchase with their own money.

Since transitioning to the flexible funding model in 2021, Subaru South Charlotte has supported nearly 80 teachers and more than 2,000 students at Sterling Elementary. The team also visits the school annually during Teacher Appreciation Week and volunteers during the winter holiday celebration, strengthening a partnership that has become a cherished part of the retailer’s community work.

“From all of us, Subaru team members and customers alike, we want teachers to know how deeply grateful we are,” said Wanda Musgrave of Subaru South Charlotte. “Their dedication, patience and passion make a lasting difference. They don’t just teach lessons, they ignite dreams.”
