CMS parent starts petition calling for resignation of 5 CMS Board members who voted to fire superintendent
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An online campaign demanding the resignation of five Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Board members is gaining momentum.
The petition, started by a CMS parent on Change.org, accuses members Stephanie Sneed, Charlitta Hatch, Gregory “Dee” Rankin, Liz Monterrey Duvall, and Shamaiye Haynes, of deciding in secret to vote to terminate Superintendent Dr. Crystal Hill without public notice, input or transparency.
The petition claims the board’s ongoing issues with conflict of interest, lack of transparency and misuse of taxpayer funds have undermined community trust.
