Police: Teen suspect in high-speed chase across state lines is also suspect in armed carjacking at UNC Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police say a teen who led police on a high-speed chase that crossed state lines is also the suspect in an armed carjacking at UNC Charlotte.

18-year-old Zyvarius Webber was taken into custody by officers in Spartanburg, South Carolina, after leading police down Interstate 85 on Wednesday, September 16th, in a chase that started in Charlotte.

Now, UNC Charlotte says Webber is also suspected in an armed carjacking that happened in Lot 25 on campus on Saturday, September 12th.

At last check, Webber is still in custody in Spartanburg County, awaiting extradition to Charlotte.
