Suspect identified in deadly afternoon shooting at north Charlotte park

Investigators have identified both the victim and suspect in this homicide.
Ebon Bell, 45, has been identified as the victim. The Charlotte–Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit has identified Morris Crawford, 50, as the suspect.
Crawford has been charged with first degree murder and firearm by felon. Morris Crawford has been transferred into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD is investigating the city’s latest homicide following a shooting in north Charlotte. It happened around three Tuesday afternoon at Tryon Hills Park on West 30th Street.
MEDIC says it treated one person for life-threatening injuries. We’ve learned they have since died.
Investigators say they have identified everyone involved and are not currently looking for any additional suspects.
