Carowinds temporarily closes two roller coasters after deadly accident at sister park in Georgia
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Carowinds has temporarily closed two of its most popular roller coasters following a fatal incident at a sister theme park in Georgia.
Park officials confirmed they have paused both Fury 325 and Thunder Striker. The sudden closures come after a man fell to his death from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia on Monday.
Management says they closed the matching attractions across their parks out of an abundance of caution while investigators review what went wrong.
Carowinds says safety remains their highest priority. They do not have a timeline for when the rides will reopen.
