911 calls released in deadly shooting of 4-year-old Caleb Flax
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – We’re hearing 911 calls from the morning a little boy was shot and killed, sleeping inside his northwest Charlotte home.
Four teens are charged in the murder of four-year-old Caleb Flax. Investigators say the suspects fired 84 shots into four homes on Grassy Patch Lane around three AM on the morning of September 20th.
The first call is from first responders on the scene. The caller is heard saying, “This is the fire truck. The ambulance, a baby has got shot…. Grassy Patch Lane. The baby is dead.”
The second call is from a woman who was shot in the leg. The 911 operator says, “Do you need police or paramedic?”
The woman replies, “Yes, I’ve been shot, I’ve been shot. I, I’m in my house. I’ve been shot multiple times, I’m pretty sure, into my house in my bed, but they went through my window. I, I’m on adrenaline right now, but I’m losing a lot of blood.”
Detectives believe that the shooting was retaliation for a previous shooting and have not said which home was the intended target.
