Gastonia Police: 68-year-old woman killed in shooting was innocent bystander

GASTONIA, N.C. – Police say a 68-year-old woman killed in a deadly shooting in Gastonia is an innocent victim. Family members shared this photo of Pamala Shanks. Investigators say she was standing on her back porch when she was hit by gunfire last night. She was not the intended target.

The shooting happened Monday night on Hillgate Avenue. Police are still searching for the shooters and are working to determine who the intended target was.
