NC AG: 470+ complaints about gas stations not lowering prices

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – You may have noticed gas prices are coming down across North Carolina after lawmakers suspended the state’s 41 cent gas tax. But are the prices falling fast enough?

North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson’s office says it has received more than 470 complaints about gas stations not passing the savings along. Jackson is asking anyone who notices gas stations with prices well above others nearby to report it to his office.

But remember, because gas stations buy their fuel in advance, they are allowed to pass along higher prices they paid before the gas tax was suspended on October 10th.

The tax goes back into effect December 1st.
