Djokovic knocked off No. 11 Grigor Dimitrov 6-4, 3-6, 7-6, 7-6 to reach the Wimbledon final for the third time, three years after winning the title. A 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 win against eighth seed Milos Raonic (ROW’-nihch) leaves Federer one step away from a record eighth Wimbledon championship and 18th Grand Slam title.

Defenders Thiago (tee-AH’-goh) Silva and David Luiz scored for the host Brazilians in a 2-1 win over Colombia. Mats Hummels scored on a header in the 13th minute to give Germany a 1-0 triumph over France, putting the Germans in the semifinals for a fourth straight World Cup.

FORTALEZA, Brazil (AP) β€” Brazil’s team doctor says Neymar will miss the rest of the World Cup after breaking a vertebra during Friday’s win over Brazil. Neymar was kneed in the back and was in tears when he was carried off the field on a stretcher.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) β€” David Gilliland has won the pole for Saturday’s Sprint Cup race at Daytona after rain shortened qualifying. Gilliland’s top speed was 199.322 mph. The top 24 drivers in the first knockout stage were supposed to advance to the next round, but rain prompted NASCAR to cancel the final two sessions.

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. (AP) β€” Billy Hurley III fired a 7-under 63 to take a one-stroke lead after the second round of the PGA’s Greenbrier Classic. Hurley played bogey-free in shooting his lowest score of the season. The former U.S. Navy officer is at 9-under 131, a stroke ahead of Kevin Chappell and Chris Stroud.
