LIVERPOOL, England (AP) β€” Tony McCoy showed he is in prime form for his final Grand National by winning the feature race at the Aintree Festival for the second straight day.

The soon-to-be-retired jockey rode Don Cossack to an easy victory in the Melling Chase on Friday, beating a strong field with an impressive display of jumping on the 3-1 joint favorite.

McCoy also won the top race on Thursday aboard Jezki in the Aintree Hurdle.

The 19-time champion jockey is retiring at the end of the jumps season, which finishes on April 25. He has suggested he will quit immediately if he wins Saturday’s prestigious Grand National on pre-race favorite Shutthefrontdoor.
