CHARLOTTE,NC–Charlotte’s newly formed airport commission is moving forward.
Former airport director Jerry Orr emailed the 13 member group to announce they’ll meet for the first time next month.
Their goal is to talk about the issues the airport faces, Orr also announced his plans to retire no later than June 2014.
His attorney says that will give him time to help the city and the airport commission through a transitional phase.
The city and a newly created commissions are locked in a battle over who will control the airport but for now the city keeps the power unless a judge says otherwise.
