MELBOURNE, Fla. (AP) β Bill Cosby’s standup tour is crumbling with shows canceled in six states.
But Friday night, the embattled entertainer took to the stage in Florida to a standing ovation from a sold-out crowd.
Performances in Oklahoma, Nevada, Illinois, Arizona, South Carolina and Washington State, though, were called off as more women come forward accusing the entertainer of sexually assaulting them many years ago.
Cosby’s lawyer has said claims by four women are untrue; a statement from Cosby on Sunday dismissed most of the others as “decade-old, discredited allegations.”
On stage in Melbourne, Florida, the 77-year-old comedian wore cargo pants and a shirt that said “Hello Friend.” He listened to loud applause and one person shouted, “We love you, Bill.”
