CHARLOTTE, NC — A local fraternity hosted a rally Wednesday night in uptown Charlotte to raise awareness about domestic violence in the wake of Bianca Tanner’s murder. Her boyfriend, Angelo Smith, Junior, is charged with Tanner’s murder. He wore his fraternity letters as police brought him to jail last week. Members of other Greek organizations want people to know they do not condone domestic violence.
Bianca’s sister, Cerise Richardson, spoke at the event about the family’s struggle. “This is just the most unimaginable thing we could ever think to happen. You know you see about it. You read about it. But you never think that it could happen to you,” said Richardson.
Angelo Smith, Junior is in jail without bond. He will face a judge again on July 16.
