Discussion:
A cold front is approaching from the west. That means more afternoon clouds and a stronger breeze out of the southwest. Temps will remain warm with highs reaching the upper 70s. The cold front won’t bring a soaking rain, but isolated to widely scattered showers will begin overnight. The boundary will settle near the I-85 corridor midday Friday, keeping isolated shower chances in the forecast through the first part of the afternoon. Cooler and drier air will blanket the area overnight with lows dropping back into the 40s and 50s. Highs will be seasonable Saturday, but the cooler weather will be short-lived. Temps will build back into the upper 70s by the end of the weekend. Better rain chances return early next week.
