Murder Victim’s Brother Arrested After Fight Breaks Out In Meck Co. Courtroom

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Deputies have charged a murder victim’s brother after a fight broke out inside a Mecklenburg County courtroom. Β 

Officials say the brother of Bias Easley was attending the court appearance for murder suspect Raphael White. Β White is accused of shooting and killing Easley, a North Carolina corrections officer, in east Charlotte in June. Β 

White’s brother, Trevor White, who has been charged with accessory after the fact in reference to the case was in the courtroom to support his brother. Β Officials say Easley’s brother punched Trevor White when he realized he was in attendance. Β 

The courtroom was immediately evacuated and Easley’s brother was taken into custody and will be charged with assault. Β His name has not been released at this time.

White was not given a bond during his court hearing.
