YORK COUNTY, SC — A York County teenager was awarded for helping police capture a suspect who was trying to break into his home.
Seventeen-year-old Luke Dowdle was home alone when a person tried to break into his family’s house. The suspect realized someone was in the house and tried to run away.
Dowdle took a photograph of the suspect’s truck before he fled. The photograph helped investigators catch the suspect. Bryant Bolin was arrested and charged with First Degree Burglary.
Dowdle was awarded with a Sheriff’s Office Citizens Commendation for his actions that day. He is credited for going above and beyond the actions expected of a citizen during the burglary that was committed at his home.
Sheriff Bruce Bryant said ” Luke Showed courage and foresight during the ordeal.”
