CHINA GROVE, NC — An eighth grade teacher in Rowan County faces possible termination following his arrest on sex charges involving children.
James Barringer, III is charged with six counts of indecent liberties with a child. Β He is a math teacher and athletic director at China Grove Middle School. Β He’s also a Boy Scout leader. Β The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office says there is more than one victim. Β
Investigators are not saying where the suspected abuse took place. Β A spokesperson says the school district is shocked and appalled by Barringer’s arrest.
