Belmont Police Chief Appeals Termination

BELMONT, NC — The Belmont Police Chief is appealing his firing.  The City Manager gave Charlie Franklin a notice of termination Friday.

It cites issues related to unsatisfactory job performance and detrimental personal conduct.  The Chief has been suspended all week, following an outside investigation into accusations of mismanagement and misconduct.

Franklin will have a hearing before City Council.
