CHARLOTTE, NC — A Gaston County woman who faked her own disappearance to avoid jail time will go on trial in November.
The Mecklenburg County DA says Amy Arrington’s trial for charges ranging from identity theft to forgery will begin on November 5. Arrington and her husband faked her disappearance over the Fourth of July in North Myrtle Beach. That three-day coastal search may end up costing taxpayers $50,000.
