CLAYTON COUNTY, GA –   Gregory Jean, Jr was returned to his mother late Saturday night after police found him behind a fake wall in his father’s home in Clayton County, Georgia.

Gregory, Jr’s father Gregory Jean along with his 31 year old step-mother  Samantha Davis were charged with false imprisonment and child cruelty for keeping his 13 year old son captive in a hidden compartment in the home for 4 years after he refused to return him after a 2010 visit.

Jean spoke up in court when the judge brought up a previous arrest from 2006.  The father told the judge he’s from Haiti, but is a US citizen who has been living and working in Clayton County for six years.  He said that the previous case was dismissed because of mistaken identity.

Samantha Davis is accused of hitting the boy with a stick on his legs and backside.  Davis has been convicted before of child cruelty, is still on probation for a case from Henry County and therefore not even eligible for bond.

The boy was able to contact his mother in Florida  thanks to a cell phone app.  He was found in a small space attic space above the garage.

Both the father and step-mother are due back in court next week.
