Community Replaces Christmas Tree Stolen from Child’s Grave

GREENVILLE, SC — Strangers worked together to replace a Christmas tree stolen from a little boy’s grave in Greenville, South Carolina.

The eight-year-old’s parents say it crushed them to see his empty grave site on Monday.  They bought the original tree because their son, who died in a car crash last month, always loved Christmas.  People saw their story on the news, and didn’t waste time helping the family out.

“I was shocked,” said family friend Andrea Fowler.  “That’s what I told my daughter.  I said, ‘There’s a tree on the grave.’  I thought maybe it was somebody had brought it back, but it was a different tree.”

Community members also plan to put up another memorial at the site of the crash.
