
BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Two men were arrested for allegedly murdering a Burke County woman. Burke County resident Leslie Renee Hensley’s body was located by police on the side of a rural dirt road in Rutherford County on Friday, April 17th.
The previous day, police received a call requesting a welfare check on Hensley. Working through the night in conjunction with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, Henley’s body was found early Friday morning.
The investigation has shown Hensley was killed on Rainhill Rd. at approximately 12am on Sunday, April 12th.
According to Burke County Sheriff’s office, police arrested Morganton residents Timothy Hal Edwards (37) and Michael Lee Shuping (26) on murder charges. Edwards and Shuping were already in custody on a probation violation.
The Burke County Sheriff’s Office is awaiting the report of Leslie Hensley’s autopsy, which will be conducted on Monday, April 20, 2015, at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem.
The court date for Edwards and Shuping is set for today, April 20th.
