Accuser: Goins Planned Suicide Before Being Arrested For Sex Crimes Against Children

GASTONIA, N.C. — The third accuser in the Gary ‘Scott’ Goins sex crimes trial claimed the former East Gaston High School wrestling coach asked him to help with his suicide. Β 

Goins is on trial for numerous sex crimes involving players on his wrestling team. Β The sex acts reportedly happened between 1998 and 2004. Β 

While on the stand, the accuser says Goins plotted his suicide because he felt guilty about what he had done to several players on his team. Β 

Goins is accused of contacting police after the accuser tried to choke him with a rope at a park in Gaston County. Β The accuser says he used the rope to try to kill Goins in the suicide plan but it did not work. Β 

Goins filed a police report claiming he was assaulted, The accuser said he later went to police and admitted he choked Goins, but also revealed the suicide plot and sexual abuse. Β
