CHARLOTTE, NC — Hundreds of homeless people in Charlotte have sleeping bags to help get them through the cold nights.  400 sleeping bags were delivered to King’s Kitchen in Uptown Charlotte, and were passed out Friday night.

This act of kindness was started by a car salesman in West Virginia.  He passed the word to a customer of his, who happened to be Amy Lambert, the program director of King’s Kitchen.

“Honestly, with giving away the sleeping bags, we’re literally saving lives,” said Lambert.

The idea has blown up on social media, and has even spread to other parts of the country.
