Former Teacher, Boy Scout Leader Faces Seventh Felony Charge

 ROWAN COUNTY, NC — A former Rowan County teacher and Boy Scout leader accused of child sex crimes faces a new felony charge Thursday night.

James Barringer, III now faces seven counts of indecent liberties with a child.  The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office says the latest charge involves an alleged incident that happened during a sleepover at a church in 1995.  

Barringer resigned from China Grove Middle School on Monday.  Investigators first arrested him last week.
