Β ROWAN COUNTY, NC —Β A former Rowan County teacher and Boy Scout leader accused of child sex crimes faces a new felony charge Thursday night.
James Barringer, III now faces seven counts of indecent liberties with a child. Β The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office says the latest charge involves an alleged incident that happened during a sleepover at a church in 1995. Β
Barringer resigned from China Grove Middle School on Monday. Β Investigators first arrested him last week.
