CHARLOTTE, NC — The water is about to go out for hundreds of homes in southwest Charlotte. Β At 11pm Friday night, Charlotte Water will start repairing a leaking pipe under Nations Ford Road near Choyce Avenue. Β Crews expect to finish by 7am Saturday.
The outage will affect homes on more than 30 streets. Β Restaurants in the area should not be affected. Β Residents tell us they’ve known about the leak for weeks.
“I’m worried about the ground up underneath the road,” said southwest Charlotte resident Darryl Davis. Β “This has been going on for three weeks, but a friend of mine said five weeks.”
Once the water is back on, people may notice slight discoloration or air in the pipes. Β Run your cold water for a few minutes, and it should clear up.
