FORT HOOD, TX — New developments about a mass shooting at Fort Hood in Texas.  We’ve learned four people are dead, including the shooter.  Officials say 14 other people are hurt.  The situation is fluid at the time of this posting, because there is still an active scene at the Army post near Waco.  Early reports are that the incident started as a soldier-on-soldier attack.  The conditions of the victims range from critical to stable.  Speaking from Chiago, President Obama promised to get to the bottom of what happened.

“When they’re at their home base, they need to feel safe,” said President Obama.  “We don’t yet know what happened tonight, but obviously that sense of safety has been broken once again.”

Thirteen people died and 32 others were hurt during a shooting spree at Fort Hood in 2009.  A military jury convicted Army psychiatrist Nidal Hasan last year and sentenced him to death.
