Man Arrested After Drugs Found During Traffic Stop

DAVIDSON, N.C. —  A man was arrested after a vehicle stop led police to drugs inside of a car on Friday night.
 
Police say that around 9:00 p.m. on Friday, officers with the Davidson Police Department conducted a vehicle stop in the parking lot of the Rushco food store on Gateway Drive in Davidson, NC.
 
Officials say that  Deon Smith Jr., 19, of Fort Mill, was arrested as the result of a narcotics investigation into the sale and delivery of narcotics. Police seized marijuana, marijuana brownies, mushrooms, and approximately $600 dollars in cash during the stop.
 
Smith is charged with possession and intent to sell and deliver marijuana, mushrooms, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances, and for resisting, delaying and obstructing an officer from performing his duties.
