CHARLOTTE, N.C. – When you walk into the Boost Mobile store on W. Trade Street in west Charlotte, the surveillance cameras are very visible. So you’d think that two men who robbed the place at gunpoint on Thursday would have at least made some attempt to cover their faces–or the very noticeable tiger face t-shirt one of them was wearing.
WCCB News @ Ten anchor Morgan Fogarty said to store owner Nage Saaed, “So the pictures are very clear.” He replied, “Yeah. Thank God. We will get them. They are idiots.”
Saaed says he doesn’t recognize the guys as anyone he’s seen from the neighborhood. The pair took at least 15 phones, including iPhones and iPads. The total loss to Saaed is around $7,000. What Siegfried and Roy will make selling the phones on the street? Maybe a couple hundred bucks.
Fogarty asked Saaed, “Are you gonna do anything, security-wise, differently, since yesterday?” He replied, “I’m gonna get my gun.”
The armed robbery happened at about 5:45pm Thursday. In other words, during business hours. But it doesn’t scare regular customer Eugene Pryor. He says, “I wanna put on my Superman cape and stop criminal activity, but I can’t. I gotta go to work at five o’clock in the morning. It is what it is.”
The tiger t-shirt criminals took off after the robbery, possibly in a light green vehicle. Both are described as being around 18 years old. If you can hold cops track them down, call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
